FAQ

What is the process for creating 3D images?

Here are the steps to creating a 3D project:

  1. Contact us to talk about your project requirements.
  2. We will send you a draft proposal that outlines the project and how much it will cost.
  3. You send us your flat artwork and product specifications.
  4. We build and texture the 3D product models. Then send them off to our render farm.
  5. We will send you a link to an image gallery for you to review.
  6. When you approve the images we send you the completed files and your final invoice.

Do I need to send you a product sample?

Sending a product sample may not be required, but it helps us a lot! We can make a much more accurate model if we have the product in our hands. If you can't send a sample don't worry. We have done many poduct renderings without samples. A product diagram with measurements, or even just a quick photo of your product can work if it is clear enough. Please do not send product samples until we have determined that it is necessary.

How big are the images and what file format are they in?

Our standard image size is 2700 pixels by 3600 pixels. That's big enough for a 9 x 12 inch print at 300 dpi. We can make even larger images, but they will often require an additional fee for rendering time.

We typically use PNG format for our images because of the high quality this format provides. Images that require a transparent background must be in PNG format. We can also web-optimize your images and convert them to JPEG format. If you require a different file format please let us know at the beginnng of the project.

How long does it take to finish a project?

Every project is different and some may require more time to complete than others. The project timeline begins once we recieve your flat artwork files and product specifications. Our goal is then to complete the project within 10 business days. If we believe that it will take longer than 10 days we will notify you before the project begins.

Can we have the 3D source files?

We typically do not release our source files that we use to build 3D projects. These files include models, materials, and lighting setups that are proprietary to our business. If you require the source files for your project you must request them before the project begins.

Is this an automated system?

No. Each project is handled by a real person in the USA. A CG artist creates each image and inspects it for quality assurance.

Can you make a competitor’s product for me?

No. We will only create images of products if you own the copyrights to the artwork.
